I cannot express how great of an experience I had at this clinic. I had a large keloid on my ear leaving me self conscious of a couple years. When I was referred to this clinic, I had a great first appointment. Throughout the process, they managed my expectations and were 100% honest and I appreciated the follow ups. Dr. Sapra did an amazing job in the procedure but I’d like to shine the spotlight on the wonderful RNs during each of my visits. They were incredibly thorough and welcoming. I’d like to specifically point out Jami, during the procedure she was kind and answered all my questions and calmed my nerves, assisted the doctor and worked on my wound gently. She is incredibly caring and even after my procedure she checked up on me, took my concern about potential infection seriously (it was just fine) and overall wonderful and passionate about her job.

I went in for a keloid removal and can I just say the whole experience was just wonderful. Every staff member I spoke to from reception to Dr Sapra were just amazing, kind and so pleasant. Jessica F was assisting me with my procedure and she was so kind and helpful- it really made the procedure go much better and I felt very comfortable. The procedure was quick and Dr. Sapra was on point with his work. Most importantly I feel like the whole procedure was fairly affordable! Keloids are more common than I thought and they’re very uncomfortable- so to be able to get it off me with the help of a kind and professional team was amazing. My ear feels so much better now thank you ICLS team!

This was my first time at a plastic surgery clinic and my experience was WONDERFUL!! Nurse Lindsay and Dr. Sapra were extremely professional and kind, they explained every step to me slowly and clearly, and put me at ease. My keloid removal went very smoothly and they gave me PLENTY of treatment and after-care options (which they explained thoroughly) that helped me actively take part in decision making and feel included. My favourite part about my experience though would be the patient care by Nurse Lindsay, it was extraordinarily good!! I’m so excited about my next visit and would definitely recommend ICLS!

I came to see Dr. Sapra for a skin condition. I got an appointment next day after contacting the office. Within a few minutes of seeing him, we came up with a game plan to address my issue and treatment was started that day. This is the most confident I have been in the last 5 years that my condition would be dealt with! Your Keloid Treatment at ICLS

Keloid scars are a type of raised scar that can occur anywhere the skin has been damaged whether by laceration, acne, surgical incision or even burn. They develop when fibrous scar tissue grows excessively and creates smooth, hard, raised growths that extend beyond the area of injury. Many of the keloids we treat at ICLS present on the ear – usually the earlobe – or navel as the result of a piercing.

Keloids do not develop immediately after the wound has healed – they can take anywhere from weeks to months to fully develop. While anyone can develop a keloid, individuals under 30 and those with darker skin tones are more likely to develop this type of scarring. Keloids are more a nuisance than a health hazard.

Dr. Sapra has published numerous studies on the effectiveness of keloid treatments. We have had great success using Filler, Pulsed Dye Laser or laser therapy. Vbeam, Genesis, Starwalker/Pico or Excel V lasers have proven effective in reducing redness and proliferation of the scar, as well as improving the overall appearance of the keloid. Surgical excision is typically reserved for instances where a patient has a very large keloid or one that has been on the skin for years.
